ogprofileOmaha Gives! is a year-round online giving platform organized by the Omaha Community Foundation to grow philanthropy in Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie counties. Each year, there is a 24-hour online giving event in May to celebrate nonprofits. This year's giving day will take place on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. The goal is to inspire the community to come together for 24-hours to give as much as possible to support the work of nonprofits in the metro area.

On May 24, we’ll give you a dozen reasons to donate to NFC with our #12ReasonsToGive campaign, highlighting stories of real Nebraska children & families we’re helping because of your support. Schedule your donation today, and make sure to watch our social media on May 24 to learn how your gift will make a real impact for children and families in Nebraska.

The minimum donation is $10 and there is no maximum. Last year, the community raised nearly $9 million for local nonprofits!

Data from 2010 was compared to 2014 to show the progress that the ESA has made. In 2010, the data reflects DHHS full case management, while the 2014 data represents NFC's efforts as the lead agency in the ESA providing full case management and service coordination.

Highlights include:

  • ESA went from achieving the lowest scores statewide on 14 items to achieving the best scores on 13 items, 6 of which we tied with another service area for best scores statewide
  • ESA has improved in 24 of the 25 items, and the one item not improved was because we already met it at 100%, and maintained it at 100%
  • ESA is meeting the 95% federal benchmark on 9 items, which was the highest score achieved statewide (Northern Service Area also met 9 items)
  • ESA did not score the lowest on any of the items in the 2014 review

The Hornby Zeller evaluation looked at a small window of time, which only examined the most recent 17 months. The difference is quite dramatic when you compare ESA to itself over the full five-year period.
